Thank you for visiting our website and welcome to Surabaya Cambridge School, our green school with a clean and safe environment!
As Assistant Principal of SCS Primary Department, I have the pleasure to get to know the teachers and staff, as well as students and parents, who make the school a productive community to work with everyday.
However, I encourage everyone to be more involved. The Student’s Handbook and Agenda serves as our guideline and monitoring tool for updates in order to find out what great things are happening at Surabaya Cambridge School.
SCS fondly believes in the idea that learning Music and Arts support all diversified learning styles. Research shows that learning the do-re-mi’s can help children excel in ways beyond the basic ABC’s. Research has also found that music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas. As an experienced music specialist, I have seen vast effects and breakthroughs in learning languages brought about by music development. Research indicates that the brain of a musician, even a young one, works differently than that of a non-musician. There’s some good neuroscience research that children involved in music have larger growth of neural activity than people not in music training. Research has also found a causal link between music and spatial intelligence, which means that understanding music can help children visualize various elements that should go together, like they would do when solving or analyzing a math problem. Furthermore, along with better performance results on concentration-based tasks, music training can help with basic memory recall and synthesis. There is a massive benefit from being musical in general music and art classes that we don’t understand, but it’s a personal response. It gives one to have a better understanding of one’s self. Our understanding of art in a fast changing world, and how we can think intelligently and express ourself creatively through self discipline are further enhanced. SCS puts music and arts as an effective tool to develop the aesthetics and good moral values as well as promote character for life-long learning experience. Music is our lifestyle at SCS.
If you have any question or concern regarding our school or your child’s school experience in a daily basis, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. We offer an on-going courses other than the after school clubs.
Always with a smile,

There is a Cambridge Primary curriculum framework for each subject – English, English as a second language, Mathematics and Science – providing a clear teaching structure. Many schools use the integrated assessments to monitor learners’ progress.
English as a second language
This curriculum develops learners’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English. It has been developed in conjunction with Cambridge English Language Assessment and is based on the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), used across the world to map learners’ progress in English.
Mathematics
The mathematics curriculum framework explores five content areas: number, geometry, measure, handling data and problem solving. This curriculum focuses on principles, patterns, systems, functions and relationships so that learners can apply their mathematical knowledge and develop a holistic understanding of the subject.
Science
This curriculum framework covers four content areas: scientific enquiry, biology, chemistry and physics. Scientific enquiry is about considering ideas, evaluating evidence, planning, investigating, recording and analysing data. Environmental awareness and some history of science are also part of the curriculum.
Qualifications
Cambridge qualifications provide learners with a global passport to success. We offer reliable, rigorous and flexible assessment, leading to internationally recognised qualifications.
Bilingual education
Cambridge qualifications are used in bilingual education programmes around the world. We work with schools to share research-based best practice in bilingual education.

SCS curriculum is culturally diverse because we infuse the curricula of Cambridge, Singapore and Indonesian syllabi from Diknas. Chinese language skills are also taught to increase multicultural content in the curriculum.
